Exploring Boone, NC: Fall Colors and Wooly Worm Fun
We drove to Boone, NC to visit our grandson Griffin at Appalachian State University the weekend of October 17-19, 2025 and were rewarded with a beautiful Fall color display on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Linn Cove Viaduct.

Photographs show why the mountains are called the “Blue” Ridge Mountains.

We also visited the Wooly Worm Festival in Banner Elk, NC. Last year it was canceled because of Hurricane Helene damage. It had it largest attendance ever this year. There were crafts, wooly worm races and yes, food trucks.

We sent time enjoying the many restaurants Boone had to offer, exploring the campus of Appalachian State and catching up with our grandson.
